It's been a few weeks since the event, but in January, my community celebrated the new year with our first meetup! It was hosted by my friend, A-chan! (my gosurori angel) she's been taking the initiative to host events for us and I'm so grateful for her friendship.
The meet was to be held at a local creperie, small and intimate with adorable decor. I'd never been, and again, was surprised by A-chan's ability to find the cutest spots in our city.
Here is my coordinate! My thought process what that since it's a new year, why not wear all white!
I actually think this dress is a little..meh but it was a gift, so I'm emotionally attached to it.
Headdress: Bodyline
OP: Bodyline
Choker/Wristcuffs: Handmade
Socks: Offbrand
Shoes: Taobao (The inside says bodyline??)
It was around 50 or something degrees Fahrenheit when I arrived, so I sat in the car with my partner until the creperie opened. Our biggest concern was that the space wouldn't be able to hold a group of our size (14) and that we'd have to sit outside in the cold. Luckily, everyone was able to be seated inside.
I regret not taking more photos of the interior, because it was very Marie Antoinette! The walls were painted pink, with white trimming and there were gorgeous white display stands with products for sale with very cute cherub statues and busts of pretty noblewomen. Maybe next time I visit I'll ask to take detailed photos.
The menu had a nice variety of crepes, waffles, and ice creams. I was honestly a bit overwhelmed about what to order and ended up just getting a crepe with lots of chocolate, toffee bits, and whipped cream. I also got a black coffee to cut the sweetness.
We weren't fast enough so our whipped cream melted.
A-chan prepared a very cute sign commemorating the meetup, and another member made us all goodie bags filled with Japanese and Korean teas! It was very thoughtful, and I appreciated their efforts so much.
It was fun catching up with everyone again, and chatting! Lolitas must just be solid inside and out because we definitely stood outside in the cold for nearly an hour taking pictures of ourselves, and each other.
And that's all! I'm incredibly grateful to be a part of such a small and kind community. When I started wearing the fashion, it was just me, alone.
Which is completely fine, there are definitely benefits to being a lonelita. I also don't mind wearing lolita out to do my own thing, but when I was younger looking at photos and videos of meetups, I really wanted to experience that feeling of comradery and sisterhood.
I'm truly happy to spend another year with my community!
Thank you for reading, I hope your future meets go well.
